Playing the hurdy-gurdy without knowing notes - Hurdy Gurdy Tablature

Learn a new instrument, why not. The hurdy-gurdy came into my life by chance.

Unfortunately I can't read sheet music, so what should I do?

Analogous to the guitar, I thought about a kind of tablature.

The thought is simple.

Pure numbers are assigned to the bottom row of keys, i.e. 0,1,2,3,4,....

Numbers with "#" are assigned to the upper row of keys, i.e. 1#,2#,3#,....

bottom row key No. -> tone

0 -> G3, 1 -> A3, 2 -> B3, 3 -> C3, 4 -> D3, 5- > E3, 6 -> F3,

7 -> G4, 8 -> A4, 9 -> B4, 10 -> C4, 11 -> D4, 12 -> E4, 13 -> F4

upper row key No. -> tone

1# -> G#, 2# -> A#, 3# -> C#, 4# -> D#, 5# -> F# , 6# -> G#, 7# -> A#, 8# -> C#, 9# -> D#

[English Notation]

1# -> Ab, 2# -> Bb, 3# -> Db, 4# -> Eb, 5# -> Gb , 6# -> ab, 7# -> b, 8# -> db, 9# -> eb

Supplies

Since someone has to read the music, I decided to use a music notation program. Since it doesn't matter which one you take and these are usually chargeable, I don't want to make any product recommendations.

A simple version that can do a song line and lyrics is enough.

Use the Music Notion Program

Step 1.jpg

Edit your sheet music in the music notion program and let the software do the sheet music recognition by clicking on “Recognize Notes”.

Enter the Corresponding Key Numbers

Step 2e.jpg

Now open a new song text line and write the corresponding key numbers above the respective note.
