How to Sew Burp Cloths
These are super easy to sew and make a really cute baby shower gift.
Gather Supplies
1/3 yard decorative fabric. 1/3 yard terrycloth, chenille or other absorbent material of your choice. Thread. Sewing machine. Rotary cutter, mat and ruler. Pins. Iron.
Wash, Dry and Iron
Wash and dry your fabric and terrycloth or chenille. Iron your decorative fabric.
Cut
Cut your fabric into two 11x21" pieces. Cut your terrycloth a little larger than your fabric.
(When I sew I like to use 1/2" hems, so your finished piece will be 10x20".)

Pin
Pin fabric and terrycloth right sides together.
Sew
Sew fabric and terrycloth together. Make sure to leave a 4" opening so that you can turn your piece right side out.
Trim
Trim any excess terrycloth so that it is even with your decorative fabric.
Clip
Clip corners at a 45 degree angle.
Turn Right Sides Out
Turn right sides out, pushing the corners out with your fingers.
Iron
Iron the entire piece. Then fold in the edges of your 4" opening, press and pin.
Topstitch
Topstitch around the perimeter of your burp cloth.
