How to Make Your Guitar Strap AWESOME

Today i'll show you how to make your guitar strap awesome (and maybe a little deadly). First you'll need:

-1 boring guitar strap
- a pack of one hundred 1 1/2 inch roofing nails
-1 ruler
-1 sharpie

First Things First

Find a not so cool guitar strap, i tried to make mine cool by putting black duck tape on it. It failed. I would recommend a leather guitar strap over nylon because it will hold the nails in place much better. Finding a basic cheap leather guitar strap isn't difficult, most music stores will have them for about fifteen bucks.

Get Nailed.

Out of all the nails to choose from i recommend roofing nails. They are cheap, shiny, noticeable and they have nice large, round heads that are flat and wont bother your shoulder. A box of a hundred nails should do and for 5 bucks you can get more if you need them.

Spacing

There are two ways to approach this, the first way is to methodically plan each space so everything is perfect, the second way is to wing it and hope for the best. I did the second. I started by loosely making a row of four nails, then i measured an inch from there to make the second line. I kept repeating until i was a few inches away from the edge.

Also Spacing

To be honest i just eyeballed it. You can use the ruler, pick spacing and repeat till your at the end. Once your lines are marked punch your nails through and your done!

Be Awesome Like Your Strap

Now that your done go rock out and laugh at your other friends with cool guitar straps because they payed at least five times as much as you did!

Why Stop Here!

Using a cheap old belt, some sew on snaps and the rest of my nails i made a wrist band. Rock on my friends.
