This will be a tutorial on how to make bands for a slingshot, using the bands from a rainbow loom.

Hope you enjoy.

What You Will Need

To make this you will need; 156 loom bands (312 if you want some decent power), a rainbow loom (I borrowed mine from a friend), the plastic hook thing, a pouch and some string or paracord.

Step 2

Start by putting two bands over the first two pegs of the loom and repeat on all the remaining pegs. On the last two pegs, put on 4 bands instead of 2.

Step 3

Now, starting with the first two bands, using the hook, lift them over the second peg they were put on and loop them back over the first.

Step 4

Repeat step 3 on all the rest of the bands as shown

Step 5

Repeat steps 2 to 4, to make another 2 rows. Thread the string or paracord through the bands you put on first, as shown in pic 2, then lift these bands off the pegs and tighten and tie the string. After that, tie the other ends of the bands in the same way and remove the whole thing from the loom.

Step 6

It should now look like this.

Now make the second band and tie them to the opposite sides of the pouch. Tie the whole thing to your slingshot frame and you're finished.

What you can do if you want more power is to use double the amount of bands, as shown in pic 4 - bear in mind, this will make the whole band set VERY bulky.

I hope everyone found this instructive and useful and if you haven't entered it yourself, please vote for this in the rubber bands contest ;-)
