How to Make Dragon/dinosaur Eggs

I made these for a project in school a couple years ago. They were easy to make and didn't take very long. They make nice Christmas tree ornaments or Easter decorations and are generally fun to have around.

Warning! If you eat the raw eggs for some stupid reason and get sick it isn't my fault.

What You Need

You will need:
*Egg(s)
*Glue
*Thumbtack or sewing needle/pin
*Glitter
*Disposable bowl(s)
*Paper Towels
Optional
*Candle
*Hot glue

If you use a thumbtack you will also need a toothpick to break the yolk or it won't come out.

THumbtack Time!!

Take your thumbtack or pin and poke a hole on the top and bottom of the egg. Make the one that the yolk and white a bit bigger than the one you will blow through.

Careful....

HPIM0403.JPG
Make sure you break the yolk with either a toothpick or pin and blow through the smaller hole to get the insides out. Be careful you don't inhale raw egg. It might be a good idea to wipe off the top before you put your mouth to it because it probably won't taste good.

Wash It Out.

Hold the egg so that the bigger hole is facing up and run a thin stream of water on it. Then try blowing the water out and do that over a couple of times. Don't do what I did and drop it in the sink. Then put a paper towel in a bowl and put the egg in it for a while so it can dry.

Glue Time!

Cover the egg evenly in glue. You may need to use your fingers. If so, after you cover it in glue you should wash your hands to avoid getting glitter stuck everywhere.

Ooh Shiny!

Now you can put the glitter on it. I am going to use the white glitter. Now put the glitter on it and once again you may need to use your fingers. Try to use the glitter that ends up at the bottom of the bowl also.

Optional

After the glue dries you can take a candle and put a small drop of wax on the holes or you can use a hot glue gun. You can also put thread in the hot glue and make a Christmas ornament. I will put wax on it later.

And You're Done!!!

You still need to clean up though. It actually isn't very messy excep the glitter gets everywhere. You can clean it up with a towel and water.

Have fun!
