How to Make a Random Number Generator
This is a random number generator that I created in school last year, I'm putting on instructables to people can share and learn on how I made my project. I will describe to the best I can, as my note was mostly trial and error to get the project working but in the end I got it to work.
Components
To make this project you will need:
1 Genie C08 chip
2 4026b chips
8 0k resistors
2 10k resistors
1 Genie download wire
2 single LED displays
1 push to make switch
1 spst switch
1 3 AA battery holder
1 Genie C08 chip
2 4026b chips
8 0k resistors
2 10k resistors
1 Genie download wire
2 single LED displays
1 push to make switch
1 spst switch
1 3 AA battery holder
Building the PCB
The pictures that I have provided are how I got mine looking make to the smallest I could get them but you can change them if you have double sided PCB I only had single so that why I have 0K resistors to be jumpers. I have put on the schematic what I hope gives a better look on how it was put together and connects put where.
The Programme
This is the programme I wrote what is a simple flowchart.
Case Design
These are my box size's. My first box I made did not work out due to I changing size every time I used the laser cutter also the ply would was bent. I then chose to use acrylic instead as it was a much better materiel to glue together and cut. The size on the photo is for the acrylic design as it is over all thicker than the ply wood. I cut out rectangles with a line in the middle to create a darker environment when looking at the LED displays. I also engraved text onto the top so people know what buttons are for what as they is to holes on top for a push to make switch to start the device giving out numbers and a on/off switch. That's how I create my number generator it designed it so people would not have to pick numbers my project would do it for them.
