How to Make a Pom-Pom Spider

This Instructable will show you how to make these cute spiders that I made last year out of jingle bells, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and a pom-pom.  You may also use a giant googly eye if you prefer, instead of the pom-pom.  I used these as a craft last year where I work, and I think the kids liked them pretty well.

Steps 1, 2, and 3.

Step #1.  All you have to do is cut 2 pipe cleaners in half.  You will have 4 pieces.

Step #2.  You make a loop in the middle of one of the pipe cleaner halves, and twist.

Step #3.  Add a bell, and twist once more.  Center bell head, and adjust first set of legs.

Steps 4 and 5.

Step #4.  Take the other three halves of pipe cleaner and twist around middle of first pipe cleaner, behind bell.  Adjust to look like legs.  You can have them be flat, as in the pom-pom one, or have them "stand up", as in our example.

Step #5.  In this step, you can glue any small round(or not) object that you like onto the abdomen area. A medium sized pom-pom is what I used on the first one.  You could also use giant googly eyes, dice, bottlecaps could be fun, large buttons, whatever you like, I leave it up to you.  You can also glue on small googly eyes on the bell if you so choose.  I used a thicker white craft glue to glue mine on.  If you prefer to make them more durable, then let me suggest a five minute epoxy.
And there you have it.  Happy spider making!
