How to Make a Hot Air Balloon! By: Anoushka

The materials you will need are:

-paper
-brown marker or pencil crayon
-4 straws
-a balloon
-tape
-a tiny doll (optional)
-scissors

Step 1

Step 1: Make a net of a square. it should form a cube and each square should be 5 x 5 cm. Make sure you do it on a 1 cm grid paper and so you just have to count 5 squares on the paper instead of using a ruler. Do not put a roof on top because it is supposed to be a basket.

Step 2

Step 2: Tape the net together and the color it a dark brown so that you can match the color of what a real basket looks like.

Step 3

Step 3: Take 4 straws that are about 19 cm tall and 0.5 cm wide. Tape it on the inside of the basket you made on the previous step.

Step 4

Step 4: Inflate a balloon with air and tape the top of the straws to all sides of the balloon but make sure that the straws are apart from each other like there are 4 corners. When you tape it, tape it to the bottom of the balloon.

Step 5

Step 5: Now put your very tiny and light mini figure inside the hot air balloon. Tape the mini figure's feet on the bottom of the basket ( the base) or in other words, in the hot air balloon. You have to do this or else the mini figure will fall out. You can also use glue to glue the feet on the hot air balloon (basket). Gently put a smiley face on the balloon with black, permanent marker. And there you have it! Your very own hot air balloon! ( This step is optional so you do not have to put a smiley face or put a doll/ mini figure inside)
