In this Instructable I will show you (or attempt to show you) how to make your own clay monster.

1. Start with an idea
2. Choose your colors
3. Make the basic shapes
4. Start shaping the major features
5. Attach the shapes
6. Add small details

Start With an Idea
Come up with an idea, or just make something up as you go along.
you can make it comical, scary or friendly later on.

Choose Your Colors
I advise using colors that compliment each other, look good together, or fit with the mood of your sculpture.
Don't be afraid to mix colors.

Start With the Basic Shapes
use spheres, cubes, cylinders, cones, or any other simple "blob"
Next start to form any major features

Attach the Shapes
Add either toothpicks or bamboo skewers as needed for support.
Smooth out the area where the two pieces meet to make it appear more natural.

Add Large Details
Add larger Details such as limbs, eyes, mouths, tails, etc.
Add Smaller Details
add tings like texture, scales, teeth, fingers and toes. Don't be afraid to use things besides clay
Things to Avoid
Using from one piece. Make sure you uses separate parts or your work will look lumpy and awkward.
Incomplete mixing of clay. Your work often looks sloppy if you mix incompletely!
sculpting to big. This can hurt your hands and compromises the structural integrity of your work.

You can use your sculpture in claymation, and other projects such as dioramas, or you can display them.
