How to Make Sloe Gin (Hands on Bushcraft)

Here’s a nice recipe to follow, on how to make sloe gin. A tasty and refreshing beverage for those winter evenings.
Ingredients
- 450g/1lb sloes
- 225g/8oz caster sugar
- 1 litre/1¾ pint gin

Preparation method
First wash and weigh out 450 grams of sloe berries. Then with a clean needle, prick the tough skin of the sloes all over and place into a sterilised Demijohn.

Pour in 225 grams of caster sugar, then 1 litre of gin, seal tightly.

Now Shake!

Place the Demijohn in a cool dark cupboard and shake every other day for a week.
After one week, shake once a week for at least two months. When the sloe gin is ready, transfer into a sterilised bottle and enjoy.
