How to Make K'nex Sniper Rods (darts)

IMG_0527.JPG
Sniper rods are, well, amazing! You can usually get almost double the distance, and at least three times the accuracy when compared to standard L shaped ammo.
Now, most of you can probably figure this out from the first picture, but I am going to make a complete Instructable anyway, for those of you who prefer extra detail, as opposed to not enough.

  • I guess I was inspired by a few forums that showed pics of similar ones. *

What You Need!

Gather up the ~~Ingredients~~ materials. Most are K'nex, but you will also need :
Some packing tape,
and a pair of scissors.

The K'nex you need is:
One rod (I recommend red),
One tan clip,

and one orange T clip (One of those things that looks like a double tan clip).

After you get these things, you can continue....

Making the Fins

Now you need to make the fins!
Start by putting 3-4 rectangles of tape onto the rod,
by folding the tape over itself. Then, you can cut them into triangles.
Make sure you have the tape positioned how you want it. After that,
you may carry on.....

The Clips....

Now, you should still have those two clips.
Clip the T one onto the end that has the fins, like So,
and clip the other one onto the front.
Spin them so that they are lined up with each other
and one of the fins.

How to Load.

Now, this only works on "open Barrel" slingshot-style K'nex guns,
Here is how to load it into one...

1. Put the elastics on first.
2. Make sure the fins and clips are aligned.
3. Place near rear of barrel.
4. Fire!

I hope this instructable helped!

It's pocket-sized ammo, that is smaller and a lot more
effective than regular L-Shaped Ammo

Have fun shooting things!
