How to Create a Song Using Ableton
Have you heard an electrical song in the radio? Well, most probably the famous dj's used Ableton to produce this song. For example, Hardwell, Avicii and Skrillex also use Ableton to produce their great songs.
Therefore I want to show you how to create an song using Ableton. Unfortunately, Ableton is not an free music program, however if you want to produce professionals music, Ableton is a really good program to use.
Before you will start with creating an awesome song, it would be great if you would use headphones for the creation of the song, because the sound quality will be better, and it will be easier, for example, to change the bass of the sound-
After you have successfully downloaded Ableton, and you have headphones you are ready to start! :)
Open Ableton, Go to "Project" and Press "New Live-Set"
The first thing you will need to do is go to Project and press "New Live-Set". You will then come an entire new project.
Find Cool Samples
You now need to find cool samples for your song. Those can be found on the left corner. There are so many samples. At the beginning it will be hard to find new and good samples/beats, since you don't really know what to look for. However, if you already have an idea of which kind of song you want to make you can just search, for example Kick. Many options will appear, simply press and try those. If you have an nice beat you can just drag it into the music stereos.
Duplicate the Selected Samples
After you found some samples, simply duplicate those, so your song last longer. You can do that by "highlighting" those samples, and then simply press cmd+F. After that is done you can then find some other samples, so your song will not sound that boring.
Change the Speed
After you have successfully found some great samples, and they all fit well together, you have the chance to change the speed of the song. However, sometimes it is not necessary to do those steps, since the samples are already in a good speed. If you want to the change the speed, you need to go to the upper left corner. There you will find an number, in this case 128.00. If you then want to change the speed of the song you either need to swipe down, to make it faster, or you swipe it down and the speed of the song will decrease.
Add Effects
You want to change the pitch of the song ? Or you want some other effects in your song?
Well that is fairly easy to do. On the left corner you are going to find audio effects. Then a big list is going to appear of possible audio effects. The only thing you need to do is press on the effect, and it will then automatically appear on the bottom. There you can change, for example the pitch.
Finalize Your Song
You should be done with your song.
On this picture you can see the result of my song, which I created. Your song should kind of look like the screenshot of my song.
Also here you can hear the song which I created, I hope you like it!
