How to Build a Hamburger Trinket Box With Yarn!

Instructions for how to crochet a hamburger shaped trinket box, using a 4.25mm crochet hook and medium weight yarn.

ch- chain
sc- single crochet
dc- double crochet
ss- slip stitch
st- stitch

The Bottom Bun

ch 2. ss into first st.

ch 2. 15dc. ss into first dc.

ch 2. 30 dc (2 in each dc of last round). ss into first dc

ch1. 60 sc (2 in each of last round) ss into first sc

ss into each sc. make sure to insert crochet hook through only one loop this time to create edge.

sc into each ss.

cut yellow yarn

The Meat

ss into outer loop of each sc of bun.

sc into each ss

ss into each ss of first meat round. this will create a fat, rolled edge on top of the bun for the patty

dc into inner ss row of meat

The Lettuce

use lace weight green with 4.25mm crochet hook to give lettuce a delicate, ruffly texture.

ch 2. sc into first st

ch 2. 12 dc into center. ss into first dc

ch 2. 24 dc (2 in each dc from last row)

ch 2. 48 dc (2 in each dc from last row)

for the final round, freestyle a little to give an uneven lumpy edge. but the basic pattern to repeat is:

ch2. 3 (or more) dc into 5th stitch from your hook. ch 2. ss into 3rd st from st you just did 3+ dc in. ss into first st of original ch to finish

Assembling the Burger

stitch the lettuce onto the inside of the top bun, taking care not to let the green show through the top of the bun.

sew in all the ends

store your trinkets in the burger and enjoy!
