How to Wear Hijab: Step by Step

This is a quick and easy tutorial on how to wear two easy hijab styles. A hijab is a headscarf worn by women for modesty in Islam. It is used to conceal their hair, neck, and ears. I have steps for two simple styles for beginners and even pros. By the end of this tutorial, you will have two everyday, go-to styles mastered.
Supplies

You will need:
- Hairbrush
- Hair Scrunchie or ponytail holder
- Straight Pins
- Safety Pins
- Tube Underscarf
- Hijab/Rectangle Scarf
Prepare Your Hair

Brush your hair out and secure it in a low bun or ponytail using your scrunchie or ponytail holder. If you have longer hair, a bun is recommended to keep hair from slipping out of the bottom of your scarf.
Putting on Underscarf

Slip the tube-style underscarf over your hair and all the way down to your neck. Pull it back onto your head, making sure to cover your hairline and ears. The underscarf is open at both ends. Make sure the end with the headband is in the front of your forehead.
Arrange the Scarf on Your Head

Arrange the scarf on your head with the edge right at your undercap. You will have both sides in front of your chest, with one short side and one longer side. Make sure you smooth your hijab out and try to remove any wrinkles.
Securing Your Scarf

Frame your face with the scarf, and then take both sides, pinch together underneath your chin, and secure using your safety pin. Make sure to pull it tightly to reduce slippage.
Wrapping Your Hijab

Lift the longer side of the scarf and pull it across underneath your chin and start wrapping it all the way around to the other side of your head. Once you make it back to the side you started on, you will secure the scarf using the straight pin. Push the pin into the scarf and pin it into the underscarf you put on in earlier steps.
Style Ends and Folds of Your Hijab

Style the hijab by smoothing out any creases or folds on top and place the side that was pinned behind your shoulder to the back. The short end can stay out in the front for extra coverage or could be tucked into your blouse. Adjust hijab so that all skin is covered.
Second Style

Secure the scarf for this style with equal lengths on both sides, as shown above. Steps 1-3 will be the same as in the previous style.
Style Ends of Your Hijab

Toss each end of the hijab across the opposite shoulder, leaving the ends in the back. Each side will go to the back; they can hang loosely, or you can use another safety pin to secure them together at the back of your neck. This style is good if you have a high neck or if you have something elaborate on the front of your dress or blouse that you don't want to be hidden by your hijab.
