How to Wash Your Dog

In today's society a dog can be known as a person's best friend. Having a dog is a fun and rewarding experience that comes with a variety of responsibilities. One of those responsibilities is washing them. If you want your dog looking clean and fresh do these steps.
Supplies

- Dog
- Dog shampoo
- Dog conditioner
Important: Human shampoo should not be used on dogs because some may contain fragrances or other substances that can cause skin irritation.
- Towel
- Brush
- Tub or shower to wash in
Brush

- Brush dog to remove dead hair.
- Be sure not to pull to hard through mats and tangles.
Wet the Dog

- Use warm water to wet dog.
Important: Be careful not to allow water in their ears. This can cause infection.
Apply Shampoo

- Use enough shampoo to get a good lather on entire body.
- Thicker fur will require more shampoo.
Lather Shampoo

- Massage the shampoo into fur.
- Leave shampoo on for recommended length of time (check your bottle). If there is no time on bottle leave on for about two minutes.
Rinse

- Rinse out all shampoo with warm water
- Be sure to not get water in their ears
Apply Conditioner

- Evenly disrupt conditioner throughout hair.
- Work your hands throughout the hair to get out any knots.
Rinse Out Conditioner

- Rinse out conditioner.
- Make sure all conditioner is rinsed out.
Dry Off Dog

- Dry off dog with a towel.
- A hair dryer can be used on medium heat to speed up drying process.
Put in Leave in Conditioner

- Depending on how much hair your dog has, put some leave in conditioner on the dogs hair.
- By doing this you can leave hair feeling silky and smooth.
Brush Dog Again

- Brush dog to work the leave in conditioner into hair.
- Have your dog looking Fresh and smelling even better!
