How to Volunteer at Centacare


Volunteering is a good way to help others. Volunteering at Centacare can be fun and also good for keeping your brain active while helping others.
1. How to Become a Volunteer at Centacare
1. First, talk to your teacher. He or she will tell you if it is suitable for you.
2. Your teacher will send an email to the Centacare Volunteer Co-ordinator to book you into the course.
3. You need to provide
- Volunteer references
- Police Clearance (Centacare will help you with that.)
4. Complete the volunteer tutor Training Course. ( This is in Perth) It is for 5 weeks.
2. What You Will Do As a Volunteer

1. You will work with different types of students at different levels of learning. You will work with people of different nationalities and ages.
2. You can work at different sites in the metro area. These sites include Perth, Cannington, Armadale, Gosnells, and Fremantle.
3. You may volunteer in a reading writing class or in a digital literacy class.
4. You can do various duties
- Conversational activities with students.
- One-on-one support with students.
- Assisting with preparation of materials for use in classroom.
- Support computer literacy and learning strategies.
- Support reading tasks as directed by teachers.
