This instructable will describe the proper method for using tape dots to hold down a wire to a PCB.

Materials Needed:

Solder Wire to Board

Begin with a wire whose endpoints are soldered to the board.

Bend the Wire

Bend the wire at right angles in order to allow for stress relief. This improves reliability. Afterwards, lay the wire flat against the board.

Place Tape Dots

Place the tape dots along the wire to attach it to the board. Butterfly tape dots shown here allow for a larger holding surface area while circular ones allow for a smaller footprint. Various sizes are available.

Inspect

Inspect to make sure the tape dots are spaced out evenly across the wire to ensure that it remains in place. That's ot!
