How to Use MyPay to Obtain a W-2 in the Air Force
With tax season coming upon us I felt it was a good idea to give new and old personal in the Air Force a step by step on how to get their W-2. It is something that people either havent done before if they are newly in the Air Force or it is something they forget about each year after asking another Airmen about it.
You will need the following items before you begin:
1. A CAC (common access card)
2. A Cac reader
3. Laptop
4. Internet Access
5. Printer
Step 1: Insert Your CAC
You will need to know your Common Access Cards password and have a valid card. Meaning you can not try to us an expired card. Make sure you fully insert the card until you hear a click. Following this you will see your account pop up which allows you to insert your password and then have access to the internent.
Step 2: Search the Air Force Portal on Your Preferred Search Engine
This is the home search of the Air Force Portal. Once you are here you will click the large blue login button. Once again you will type in your CAC password to gain access to the portal.
Step 3: Air Force Portal
Once you login you will the see the original Air Force Portal. Here you have the opportunity to use any important tabs in this website. Other than myPay the portal offers many other systems used in day to day Air Force operations. In the top right corner you will type in myPay. This will bring you to the next page.
Step 4: MyPay Access
After your search the first option is the myPay link. You will double click this link to gain access to the payment informatin system of the military.
Step 5: Homepage of MyPay
Once you click on the link in the portal you will see the homepage of myPay. You will access the homescreen by clicking smart card login or typing in your login ID and password.
Step 6: the Link to Your W-2's
Pictured is the screen you see once you login to the myPay system. On the left hand side you will see six lines down Tax Statement (W-2) on the second image it is in gray. You will then click this section. To find all of your tax documents.
Step 7: Access to All W-2's
Once you get to the Tax Document tab you will see the drop down option on the left allows you to have access to all of your past years W-2's. On the right hand you will have the option to print out the W-2's as well.
Step 8: Printing W-2's
