How to Tie a Threaded Figure Eight With Stopper Knot
Welcome to my How to Knot tutorial, I will be showing you how to tie a threaded figure eight with a stopper knot. This knot’s intended use is for climbing. The stopper knot is added as a safety and must be done when used for climbing. Once learned, this is a fairly easy knot to tie and is essential for climbers. Its design is easily distinguished so it can be easily checked during a safety inspection, it can be directly tied to hardware devices, will self tighten under a load, and can absorb some shock. After a load, this knot can be difficult to untie.
Be sure to check out the descriptive video at the end to help for further understand.
First start by creating a figure eight knot.
Now feed the working end back through the knot.
Follow the same figure eight path while still keeping the loop.
Dress accordingly.
In order to add a stopper, you will need a longer working end.
Wrap the working end around twice on the standing part.
Then insert the working end through the loops.
And tighten.
