How to Tie a Neck Tie in a Full Windsor Knot

Whether you like skinny ties, wide ties, or somewhere in-between, the full Windsor (double Windsor) is the perfect knot. It looks great and is sure to make your tie look neat and ready for any occasion.
Supplies

- Your favorite neck tie
- Dress shirt
- Mirror
Pick a Tie
First thing is first, you need to pick a tie that you would like to wear.
Put the Tie Around Your Collar

Put the tie around your neck creating a V below your neck, put the seam of the tie down.
Have the small end of the tie cross underneath the large end, I typically like to have the small end on my left side.
- Depending on your tie, it's important to have the short end only about an inch or two past the other side.
First Loop

Loop the large end of the tie back towards yourself and up through the V.
Bring the large end back around to the front.
Wrap the Large End Behind

Take the large side of the time behind your knot, over from one side to the other.
Second Loop

Loop it up and over the right side of the V like you did on the first loop.
Loop It Around the Front

At this point you should have a loop around each side of the V.
Loop the large end of the tie in front of the knot from one side to the other.
Bring It Through the Front

Take it behind your knot and then weave it back through the loop you just created in the front.
Pull it down through until it feels tighter.
Tighten the Knot

Pull the small part of the tie (underneath) to tighten the tie around your neck.
Adjust the Knot

Tighten and adjust the knot by pulling it tighter around your neck.
Adjust the knot by pulling on the upper parts of the knot and then pulling it tight again.
Do this until you are happy with the length of your tie and the size/look of your knot.
Position Your Knot and Put Your Collar Down

Pull your tie tight up to the base of your collar and position it how you would like.
Put your collar down, and you're all done!
