How to Study for a Test!

No one likes the feeling of walking into a test unprepared. It's important to be confident and ready before you take a test so you can get good grades and succeed in school. In this guide I will be showing you ten easy steps on how to preform well on a test.

Supplies

You will first need a pencil, preferably two just in case one break, 5 to 10 colorful posted notes, three highlighters in the colors pink, green, and yellow, and lastly you will need around 5 to 7 piece college rule paper depending on the material you are studying for.

Label Your Paper

In this step you will take a single piece of college rule paper and with your pencil in the top right corner write your name, in the left top corner right key terms, and in the top center write define.

Fold Your Paper

Next you will take your piece of paper and fold vertically 3-5 inches from the left edge. Make sure the crease is in between the words key terms and define.

Write Your Key Terms

In this step you will be writing your key terms. On the left side of the crease under key terms in where you will write your terms or important words, make sure to give space in between each term for long definitions.

Write Your Definitions

In this step you will be writing your definitions for your Key terms. On the right side of the crease under define is where you will be writing your neat explanation of the key terms. Make sure these include important details and are written in full sentences.

Fold Down Your Paper

In this step you will take your paper and use the crease we made earlier to fold your paper revealing the key terms or definitions (which ever you prefer studying by).Use this paper to just look over and review your material.

Highlight Your Terms

Now that you have reviewed and looked over your terms use your colored highlighters to mark on your paper. With a pink highlighter draw and X on the words/terms you don't know or are unfamiliar with , with the yellow write a circle for ones that could use more practice , and lastly with green draw a check for ones your confident on.

Study Schedule

Now using your post it notes you will make a reasonable and organized study schedule for when you will study. When writing this schedule take into account your routine ,sports , or other activities that you might be doing on that day.

Now that we have marked on our paper which words we need help on take out your posted it note and write down either a song, rhyme, helpful notes or phrase to help you remember those terms better.

Now that we have finished our two post it notes ,hang them in visible and convenient places that you check or see on a daily bases so you are less likely to forget.
