How to Solve Cube With Pertus Method
Yo guys this is to help you solve a Rubik's cube with method of Lars Petrus
you can use this chart (from JPerm) to understand movements
Supplies
Rubik's Cube 3x3x3
Build a 2x2x2 Corner
Create a 2x2x2 corner on the cube-like shown (there is no specific algorithm for this)
We Expand What We Have to a 2x2x3 Block
Create a 2x2x3 without destroying the 2x2x2
Twist the Edges
1. Identify the bad edges.
There are 7 edges not part of the 2x2x3. Pick any one of them, say the red/blue one. Place it between the red and blue centrepieces using only the 2 free layers (that is, not breaking up the 2x2x3).
2. Turn bad edges into good edges.
There are always an even number of bad edges. You can make them good in pairs. The simplest way is the 3 moves F' U' F . Just place two bad edges in the positions of the coloured edges, and do it. Check that your edges actually became good the first time, to be sure you're doing it right.
F2L
Finish the First Two Layers (F2L) by only turning 2 sides. The pure Petrus approach is to create a 1x2x2 block and expand it to a 1x2x3 block to finish the F2L. The Last Layer's edges will orientate themselves automatically.
LL
Create a cross on top
1. If you get r shaped on opposite of solved colour use f R U R' U' f'
2. If you get a line on top, make it like shown and use F R U R'U'F'
3. If you just have the center piece use 1 and then 2 to make it cross
Swaping
Swap edges if it is not in the correct position use R U R' U R U2 R' U
Position the Corners
We have almost finished solving the Rubik's Cube, only the yellow corners are left. In this step we have to put them in the right spot, it doesn't matter if the orientation is wrong. We're going to take care of the orientation in the last step.
Use this L' U R U' L U R'
Orient the Corners
All pieces are in their proper places you have to orient the yellow corners to finish the puzzle.
Use this R' D' R D
Mission Accomplished
You have solved your cube
