Supplies
For this type of project you will only need a few easy, everyday supplies, which I tried to make simple for you.
- A pencil or pen
- A piece of paper (or an online computer drawing software)
- Colored Pencils of choice (optional)
- Last of all, your imagination!
Nose + Eyebrows
First off, You start with designing your nose. There are many shapes and sizes so pick one that is right for your drawing. I did a fatter nose for my drawing. The nose bridge comes out and connects to the eyebrow. For the eyebrows i draw them all the way across the end of the nose bridge and a little bit beyond, with backwards c-shaped strands.
Eyes
The eyes need to be spaced equally from the middle of the nose bridge that you made. Start with a circle and then draw two wiggly kind of triangles on each side. Then, add the eyelids to make the eye not as big. Lastly, add the iris to the middle of the eye and in the middle of the iris add the pupil. (just circle in a little dot in the iris). Then finish up with any details like eyelashes or veins in the eye.
Lips
Now the lips! First, you will draw the Philtrum which is the part under the nose and above the lips. You will then start drawing the lips like the shape that is shown. It can be plump or thin and the mouth can be open or closed. I then added details for my drawing like teeth, and little lines at the surface of the lips to make the lips seem chapped.
Facial Structure + Ears
After drawing all the main features of the face; it is time to start on the shape of the head for your character. Make sure it doesn't collide with any of the features previously drawn. This can be any shape you want, an oval or circle, or very complex with cheekbones whatever you would like. Then, we add the ears. The shape of the ear can be as simple as half circles coming off of the side of the head. Then for any details you can add lines going to the ear hole.
Hair
For the hair I usually do one-by-one strands on top of the head and all the way down the dome (top) of the head. If it is long hair, I draw it either draping on top of the ears or going behind them.
Wrinkles + Other Details
Lastly, you can add the final details like forehead wrinkles (lines going from one side of the forehead to the other) or other random things like earrings,.
