How to Single Crochet

This is a basic guide to a single crochet. This teaches you the basic of single crochet. You can create squares and crochet a patchwork cardigan or whatever project you have in mind.

Supplies

You will need yarn. The color is up to you. You will also need a needle and the needle size depends on your yarn size.

Create a Slip Knot

You will begin by creating a slip knot.

Create a Foundation Chain

You can create how many chains needed for you project depending on the length of your measure object. For my project, I made twenty chains.

Single Crochet Into the Foundation Chains

Insert your needle into the second chain. you will then yarn over, pull through a loop, and then yarn over again and pull through both loops.

Single Crochet Into the Foundation Chains

You will repeat the previous steps until you get to the end of foundation chain.

Turning the Crochet Pattern

Chain one and turn your project so you will be looking at the backside of the project.

Single Crochet Another Row

You would make a single crochet in the first stitch. You will repeat step three in this process.
