IMG_0408.JPG

Ever ran into a skewer that had frayed edges, or just want a few to be a little shorter? No need to break out the wood saw- you can shorten it right in your kitchen! All you need is the following:

Materials:

  • Skewer(s) you desire to shorten
  • 1 standard-sized pair of scissors
  • 1 piece of sand paper

Step 1

Place the skewer in between the blades of your pair of scissors at the point where you wish to cut.

Step 2

Close the scissors until they partially cut through the wood of the skewer. DO NOT attempt to actually cut the skewer; doing so may result in injuries.

Step 3

Twist the skewer around while inside the scissors until it looks similar from all sides to the image shown above.

Step 4

Gently break the cut area off the skewer. If the area does not break easily, repeat Step 3 until it does.
