How to Roll Silverware
When going out to eat, do you ever notice the rolled silverware? Who rolls it? Many times going out with friends I get asked these questions and often it is the server who rolls the silverware when they are not taking care of their tables. A lot of the times, it is after all of their tables are cashed out and cleared so they don’t have to worry about checking on them. Rolling silverware is easy once you get the hang of it.
Supplies
Square napkins
Silverware
sticky tabs
First, start by grabbing all the supplies needed. This includes a tall stack of napkins, sticky tabs, and of course the silverware. It is also a good idea to set up the area before starting. Place the napkins in front so it looks like a diamond. After that, put the sticky tabs on the dominant side that will be easily reachable. The silverware should be sat in front of the napkins so when reaching straight out, they are easily accessible.
Next, grab one fork and one knife and place them on the top corner of the napkin. Place the knife first and then the fork on top.
After that, grab the right corner and lay it over the fork. The top and bottom of the fork should still be visible.
Likewise, do the same thing but with the bottom corner. It should now cover the bottom of the fork and part of the right corner that was previously put down.
As a result, two corners should be folded inward and the last corner should be the left one. Next, roll the right hand over the silverware from right to left in a wave motion going downwards first. The napkins should have enough bounce in them to allow the hand to smoothly go across and finish rolling the silverware.
Lastly, but equally important, grab a sticky tab and wrap it around the silverware. There is a small spot of adhesive that will hold it all together.
