First step is to backup all the data from your PC to an External Hard-Drive or to an online cloud services like Google Drive, One Drive, MEGA, etc.

You should Backup:

  1. All the data from Hard-Drive.
  2. All Bookmarks, Passwords from your browser(s)

Note: Your data is precious and if you are uploading your data to online services then you should read their privacy laws.

Once your Data is backed-up, you are ready to RESET your PC. Now go to Settings, then to Update and Security section, then to Recovery section and click Get Started under Reset this PC.

Then you will be provided with two options: (i) Keep My Files or (ii) Remove Everything. I'm choosing to Remove Everything. After that select Local Reinstall option for faster Resetting. Change Additional Settings according to your own desire and then click Confirm. Now a new window - Ready to Reset this PC is opened and click Reset.

Once the Reset preparation is started you can leave your PC to do other work as it's going to take at least 3 to 4 hours for complete Reset (It might take more time and is depended on the occupied storage space).

The PC will restart multiple times during the process, so don't panic and let it do whatever it wants to do. Once the Resetting is completed, you will asked to input some personal details which can be filled by yourself and then Agree the terms and conditions of the Windows 10.

It's going to take some more time and then you will be presented with a clean and fresh Windows 10.

Note: Please Plug-in your charger to the laptop while this process is going to take some time.

When the PC restarts again you might want to remove some unwanted applications called Bloatware. These applications come inbuilt with your PC but you can delete most of them like McAfee Antivirus, 3D Viewer etc. They take unwanted spaces and also not effective especially McAfee.

Delete them using REVO Uninstaller which I had explained in a different Instructables Blog: https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Remove-Yahoo-Powered-From-Your-PC/ (Follow from the Step 2).

Updating Windows

Updating your Windows is necessary to have more advanced and secure operating system.

  • Select Windows Updates.
  • And Check for Updates.

Once Windows is updated, Restart your PC.

Updating Drivers (Using Driver Easy)

For updating drivers, Driver Easy software is used. I had created a different Instructables Blog: https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Manually-Update-Drivers-on-PC-Using-Driver-/

And that's all, you have given your PC a new look and a fresh start. I hope you like it.
