Photoshop 101 - Make White Background with Quick Selection

For those of us that sell our handmade or vintage items, getting a successful product photo is essential. You want the customer to be able to focus only on your beautiful merchandise in the photo, and not the unprofessional wrinkles in that sheet you used as a background.

If you don't have access to a professional photography studio (costing upwards of $500, even if you DIY that sh*t), then photoshop is your only hope for that pure white background.

If you have never used it before, Adobe Photoshop can be daunting and confusing. (None of the buttons are labeled with actual words HOW are you supposed to crop the photo??) If the only think you want to use it for is to perfect your product photos, then this Instructable is for you.

The embedded video gives you all of the instruction you need! If any clarification is needed, please post questions below. Thanks :)

The video gives you step by step instruction AS I do the background removal myself. These are just some other examples of what you can do with photoshop! It's pretty amazing. The first photo featured is actually not even real wood, but a computer generated background.
