Tennis balls are used on the bottom of chairs with metal legs to prevent scuffing on tile floors. Likewise, they are a great way to remove scuff marks from patent leather shoes without tarnishing their look or damaging the leather.

A few easy steps and your professional wardrobe will have a shiny, new-looking pair of patent leather shoes!

Supplies Needed

o Scuffed patent leather shoes

o One tennis ball

Preparing the Shoe

1. Place the scuffed shoe on a flat and sturdy surface.

Ball Placement

2. Press the tennis ball against the shoe with medium pressure. If the tennis ball has writing on it, be sure to NOT use that side, or it will rub onto the shoe.

Note: if this happens, use a blank side of the tennis ball to remove the black from the letters.

Applying Pressure

3. Move the tennis ball in a counterclockwise motion, increasing pressure as needed to remove scuff mark.

Caution - Applying too much pressure can result in creasing the leather. Use discretion when increasing pressure.
