How to Put on and Take Off PPE

Order Of Putting On (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment

The type of PEE required to wear will depend on the precautions required. Like, droplet precautions, airborne or contact. PPE should be put on and taken off based on the type of PPE required.

·        Fully covered torso and neck to knees, arms and to ends of wrists, and wrap around the back. (Torso y cuello completamente cubiertos hasta las rodillas, los brazos y los extremos de las muñecas, y envuélvalo alrededor de la espalda)

·        Secure elastic straps behind your ears. (Correas elásticas seguras detrás de las orejas)

·        Fit flexible band to the nose bridge (Coloque una banda flexible en el puente de la nariz)

·        Fit snug to face and below the chin. (Se ajustan cómodamente a la cara y debajo de la barbilla)

 Extend gloves to cover wrist isolation gown. (Extienda los guantes para cubrir la bata de aislamiento de las muñecas)

BE CAREFUL, DO NOT TOUCH OUTSIDE OF GOWN OR GLOVES! (¡TENGA CUIDADO, NO TOQUE FUERA DE LA BATA O LOS GUANTES!)

-Grasp the front of the gown and pull it away from your body so that the ties break, touching only the outside of the gown with gloved hands (Sujete la parte delantera de la bata y retírela del cuerpo para que se rompan los lazos, tocando solo el exterior de la bata con las manos enguantadas.)

-While removing the gown start folding and rolling the gown inside out into a bundle (Mientras se quita la bata, comience a doblarla y enrollarla del revés formando un paquete.

-Make sure not to touch the outside of the gown, only touch the inside part that was touching your body. (Asegúrate de no tocar el exterior de la bata, solo toca la parte interior que tocaba tu cuerpo.

-As you remove the gown, peel off your gloves simultaneously, only touching the inside of the gloves and gown with your bare hands. Palace the gown and gloves in a waste container. (Mientras se quita la bata, quítese los guantes simultáneamente, tocando solo el interior de los guantes y la bata con las manos desnudas. Deposite la bata y los guantes en un contenedor de residuos.)

-DO NOT TOUCH THE OUTSIDE OF THE MASK, ITS CONTAMINATED! (¡NO TOQUE EL EXTERIOR DE LA MÁSCARA, ESTÁ CONTAMINADA!)

-Grasp the bottom ties or elastics of the mask/respirator, then the ones at the top, and remove them without touching the front (Sujete las ataduras o elásticos inferiores de la mascarilla/respirador, luego los de arriba y retírelos sin tocar el frente.)

-Discard in a waste container (Desechar en un contenedor de residuos)

-Once you're all done you will want to wash your hands for 30 seconds (Una vez que hayas terminado, querrás lavarte las manos durante 30 segundos.)

Scrubbing up to your elbows and drying thoroughly (Frotar hasta los codos y secar bien.)
