How to Properly Wear an IWB Holster

While it may seem easy to wear an IWB Holster - and it generally is - there are a few tips, tricks and things to know about how to put it on just right and carry it in order to get the best carry experience. An IWB Holster is designed to conceal easily and wear comfortably inside the waistband. When carried correctly, a lawfully carried handgun can practically disappear and if it's an alien gear inside the waistband holster, it will wear comfortably all day due to the neoprene backing.

The easiest method of putting on an Alien Gear IWB Holster is to begin while putting one's pants, shorts or another style of trousers on in the morning. It can be done in other ways, but it more easily done this way. You can put the holster on with or without your handgun in the holster. Some people find it works better with and some without.

This is how you put on and wear an IWB Holster holster.

Before fastening the waistband of your pants, shorts or trousers, determine which side you wish to wear the holster on. Hold this side of the waistband open, and slide the holster inside the waistband, without sliding the belt clips over the waistband, until you reach the desired location. You should also thread your gun belt through your belt loops without fastening the belt.

Once you've found your preferred carry position, slide the belt clips over the waistband. It's best to fasten one before the other, as the clips hold very tight. Secure one before securing the other.

Fasten your pants and zip up the fly. Try to do while keeping a good hold of your waistband, as the weight of the holster may cause the waistband to sag, especially if you put your holster on with a firearm inside it.

If you wish to carry with your shirt tucked over the holster and inside your waistband, insert your pistol into the holster and tuck your shirt inside the waistband. Make sure to smooth your shirt down where the holster sits, as it may tuck unevenly.

If you are going to carry without tucking in your shirt, insert the pistol into the holster. Once the firearm is securely inside the 3.0 gun holster, fasten your gun belt. Drape your shirt over your holster, pistol, and waistband.
