How to Properly Clean a Pheasant
This is a process on how to properly clean a pheasant.
Supplies
Big Plastic Bag, Knife, Salt, and a Bowl.
Skinning the Pheasant
Grab at the middle of the pheasant as you pull outward on the skin to rip of the skin of the pheasant. You will then proceed to twist and pull off the legs, wings, head, and tail feathers.
Gutting the Pheasant
Use your knife to make a small cut between the stomach and the rear. You will then pull up on the stomach a little stretching it from the rear. You will then take two finger and start to scrape out the insides until all guts are out. Be carful to not to cut yourself on the bones!
Washing the Pheasant and Cleaning the Feathers
Put a paper towel in a sink and begin to fill with water. Once it has soaked you will start looking over the pheasant and plucking out feathers and and BBs still in the pheasant. Go over it a few times over the pheasant till you're sure you got everything else.
Preserving the Pheasant for Cooking
Place the pheasant in a big plastic bag. Then add cold water and salt to the bag. Once that is complete grab a container and put the pheasant in the bag in the container. Finally put it in the fridge and let it sit for 2-3 days.
