How to Properly Apply Gel Polish

Welcome to my instructable about gel polish application! It's time to step up your nail game with some fun, long-lasting colors made for any and every occasion! Gel polish is a UV (LED) cured polish that is made to last longer than regular polish formulas. There are many options of gel polish, like cat eye, a magnetic type of polish that involves a magnet for a 'cat-eye' like look. Gel polish is a quick way to style your nails.
Supplies

For this project, you will need a gel base coat, gel polish color, gel top coat, table covers or paper towels, metal scraper to remove excess polish, and a UV light. You will also need disinfectants, like Citrus 2.
Clean Area

Upon finding a place to work (with an outlet), clean the area with your chosen disinfectant, and clean the area thoroughly. Throw away the used paper towel and put cleaner away after it has been used. Ensure the table is dried before placing the table cover down. Plug UV light into the outlet.
Gather Supplies

Gather gel base coat, gel polish color, and gel top coat.
Gel Base Coat

Apply thin gel base coat, use metal scraper if any polish gathers around nails on fingers. It is important to remove excess polish BEFORE curing because the gel buildup could lead to a potential allergic reaction on your hands, or anywhere the gel polish has been. Cure the base coat for 60 seconds.
Gel Polish Color

Apply selected gel polish color in a thin coat to the nails, and use the metal scraper to remove excess polish from fingers. Cure the polish for 60 seconds, and repeat the process for a second time.
Gel Top Coat

Upon the nails being fully cured, you will apply a thin top coat, use a metal scraper to remove excess polish that pools on the fingers before curing, and cure for 60 seconds.
