How to Play "Red Light Green Light"(NOT Squid Game)
if you're a big netflix watcher(and if you're old enough), you've probably seen the drama "squid game" series. if you didn't, i'll explain what it's about:
456(poor)players enter a single game with 6 small games inside, where the winner gets 456 billion won(3855.84$ in US). the only twist is that if you're out: you're dead(literally). the first(small)game was called "red light green light" A.K.A: mugunghwa(korean flower)has bloomed. it killed off most of the players because they didn't know even what was comming. i didn't watch the whole thing, but i could tell, somethig was wrong with that game(you might be thinking i'm crazy, but trust me, i played that "red light green light" game even before the movie. it's sort of a culture of play passed down from the olden days. just ask my friends)like the rules or something like that. so, here's how to play the original game.
Supplies
you will need:
a wall/tree big enough to not see over it
some friends or family members to play with(don't be worried. they won't be killed)
some colored tape
Choosing the Tagger
time to choose your tagger. play "rock papper scissors" with all the players. the loser gets to be the tagger(do you remember that giant doll from squid game? that's the tagger). the rest of the gang becomes the players.
Drawing the Line
get out some colored tape and draw out two lines like shown in the picture. the players stand behind line 1(right), while the tagger stands alone between the wall/tree and line 2(left).
Time to Play!
time to play! the tagger faces the wall/tree so that he or she can't see the players. the tagger yells "mugunghwa has bloomed" while the players move foward to touch the tagger without being seen moving. if the tagger is finished saying out loud, he or she turns around to face the players. the players need to stop in position before the tagger stops yelling and turns around. if the tagger catches some unlucky players moving around even when he or she has stopped yelling, the caught players stands right next to the tagger. if the tagger catches all the players, the game is over. but if the players succeed moving around and touches the tagger, all the players flee from the tagger to stand behind line 1 while the tagger tries to catch a player before they cross the line. if the tagger catches a player, that player gets to be the next tagger. if the tagger didn't catch a player, the game continues with the same tagger.
