The Arc Trooper for me was hard to use because I didn't understand how to use it. After a lot of practice I am good with the Arc Trooper and for me is one of my favorite units to play as.
Overview

The first thing you're gonna wanna do is obtain at least 1,000 battlepoints. You get battlepoints by doing objectives and defeating enemies. The Arc trooper costs 1,000 battlepoints because it is a reinforcement unit. The Arc trooper has 350 base health and dual wields Dc-17 blasters. The Arc trooper is a cautiously aggressive unit. It's a lot of setting shock trap hiding around a corner waiting to set it off near an enemy and then charging in aggressively, catching the enemy on their heels. The Arc trooper's high health, high maneuverability, strong melee attacks, and abilities make this much easier. The Arc trooper is best at short to medium range. Hallways, choke points, and anywhere with cover are where the Arc trooper is most deadly. All though the Arc trooper is best indoors you can also use them in outside battles as well; however, there are much better units for those situations.
Toggle Fire

The Arc trooper's right ability toggle fire is very effective. This ability is activated using the right bumper. The ability makes the Arc trooper's Dc 17s fire faster but with less accuracy. Reduction is accuracy isn't much of a worry considering that you're going to be firing from close quarters so they'll be hard to miss. The images show a before and after of activating the ability. When activated the right ability will be high lighted. This ability lasts forever unless you turn it off yourself.
Step 3: Shock Traps
The Arc Trooper has a shock trap that knocks over enemies in it's radius and deal damage. This works for any non vehicle trooper in the game even heroes and villains. I like to stand around a corner and place a shock trap where there is a lot of enemies traveling. I trigger it by activating the ability again. I come put from the corner and use the dc-17s to take them all out. You can easily take out 5--6 troopers with this one move. Repetitively using this is a great way to help you and your team mates get easily eliminations. I often put them on command posts too so when the enemy tries to take them I can trigger it and lead a counter attack. Against heroes it works well to since it knocks them down which can lead to them taking massive damage from you and your team.
Step 4: Scan Ability
The Scan ability makes it easier for you to track your enemies as it reveals them to you. It gives you the upper hand because you can see where they are or where they're going. They can't do much when you know their every move and have the firepower and traps to easily take them. I like to use it for letting enemies walk past me so I can sneak up behind them so I can easy eliminations. The scan ability is the mid ability which is triggered by simultaneously pressing left bumper and right bumper.
Step 5: Star Cards
Star Card 1: Desperation. Desperation reduces ability recharge times when damage is deal to you. I use this because you have high health and can take a beating so having a perk for taking damage is never a bad thing. I think this is most useful for the shock trap because I can take a fair amount of damage and have another shock trap within seconds.
Star Card 2: Evasion. With this ability you get one extra evade with lower recharge times. This is very useful especially when you don't have a lot of cover so you can dodge oncoming attack.
Star Card 3: Stalker. Stalker is very good because when an enemy you reveal with your helmet scanner is eliminated you get health. At level 4 of this card you get 55 health once you eliminate them so if you place a shock trap and you have the enemies revealed with your scanner and you eliminate 5 of them that's 275 health you just gained. This pairs great with the desperation star card.
