How to Mow a Tee Box
Today I will show the procedure on how to mow a Tee Box. A tee box is the start of a hole in the game of golf, where the golfer puts his ball on a tee. I have 3 years experience working grounds crew at Cattail Crossing Golf Course, and have mowed tee boxes countless times.

How to Start
First start the mower. Start the mower by turning the key. The mower has to be in neutral, have the blades disengaged, and have weight on the seat.
Transport and Mowing Speeds.
After starting the mower in neutral, it is able to be shifted without any clutch or brake. There are 3 gears neutral, 1st, and 2nd. first gear is used for mowing, where second gear is used for transport. Put the mower in 2nd gear and travel to a tee box.
Foot Controls
Foot controls are quite simple on a tee box mower. The 2 left petals control the blades. The far left petal raises the blades and disengages them, while the right one drops and engages them. There is also a brake petal in the center, and the gas petal on the right.
After arriving at the desired tee box, shift into 1st gear and drop the blades on the tee box by pressing the second petal from the left. travel to the end of the tee box, then lift the blades before going off the opposite end. repeat this last step until everything but the edges are done. After getting the middle mowed a cleanup lap is needed to get rid of the grass you missed on the edges where the blades were picked up and dropped. Drop the blades on the tee box, then proceed around the edge, being careful not to cut off of the tee box.
