We made this How to draw a flag video because we wanted to honor the people who have died for our country and our citizens. On the day that we are starting this project, it is 9/11. On this tragic day in American history, 2977 people lost their lives. This flag is a symbol of freedom and opportunity. The first flag of America was called the Grand Union Flag or Continental Colors and it was flown until 1777.

Make the Stripes

The third step is to start making the 13 stripes of the flag starting at the top. Each for one of the 13 original colonies. The image will help you a lot with this.

Drawing the 50 Stars

The fourth step is to draw 50 stars in the small rectangle. Each star is for one state in the U.S.

Color in the Flag

In the smaller box with the stars, you have to color in that small rectangle blue, but keep the stars white. For the stripes starting at the top, you have to color in the first stripe red, and then the next one you leave white. Repeat this till there are no more stripes in the large rectangle.
