How to Make the Best 4 Ingredient Spaghetti Carbonara

Gather all the ingredients: eggs, pasta, fresh parmesan cheese, and lardons.

Boil water in a stockpot. Then add the pasta of your choice(spaghetti) only once the water is boiling. Make sure to add enough water to fully submerge the pasta and let it have enough space to cook. The more water the better!

While the pasta is cooking add your lardons to a pan with no oil or butter as the lardons fat will help cook the lardons. Don't forget to stir and flip the lardons every once in a while

While the pasta and lardons are cooking, in a large bowl, crack the number of eggs you need for the number of people you are serving (1 egg per person; ex. 6 people 6 eggs) then grate a generous amount of fresh parmesan cheese into the same bowl. Then stir. (Optional: add some salt and pepper to the mixture)

Once the lardons have fully cooked, place them on a paper towel to let the grease go off and to let it cool down so that it doesn't cook the egg. Once the bacon has been on the paper towel for about 1 minute, put it into the large bowl and mix it with the egg and cheese.

Step 6

Once the pasta has fully cooked put the pasta in a strainer to let the pasta water out. You can also keep a bit of pasta water.

Step 7

Quickly take the pasta and put it back into the stockpot or a serving bowl and pour the egg, cheese, and lardons mixture into the warm pasta, then stir around for at least 1 minute. The warm pasta will cook the egg and your carbonara is ready!
