How to Make (and Dye for Easter) Easy-to-peel Boiled Eggs

Using this simple method to boil eggs, they should come out perfect and easy to peel every time.

Add 1 tbsp of baking soda to a pot of water and bring to a boil.

Add the eggs after the water has started boiling and continue to boil for 11 minutes.

The eggs come out very easy to peel. The whites aren't rubbery and the yolks are a bright yellow.

Now, unless you are dying them for Easter....or just want to have pretty colored eggs year round for no reason, that's all there is to this instructable.

If you do want to see a few ways to dye the eggs, stick around for the rest of the steps.

Add 1 tbsp of white vinegar to a 1/2 c of warm water.

In each cup, add 20 drops of food coloring. You can always mix two colors to get an unique hue (for example, mix 12 blue drops and 8 red drops, or 14 yellow and 6 red). Stir the mixture before adding your eggs.

Place your eggs in the dye and leave for 5 minutes.

You should be able to get a wide variety of colors using this method and experimenting with the different ratios of drops.

If you want something more than just regular dyed eggs, there's still two more ways to dye the eggs.

Mix 1 tsp white vinegar to 1 c warm water, pour solution in a spray bottle.

Wrap your egg in a paper towel and secure the ends with a tiny rubber band.

Add drops of food coloring directly on the wrapped egg. Try to not leave too many white spaces.

Spray the egg all over with the vinegar & water solution and let sit for 5 minutes.

Remove the rubber band and take the egg from the paper towel.

Each egg that you do this to will look unique and they all come out gorgeous.

If you still want to know one other way to dye the eggs and were paying attention in step 7, you will know to stick around for the last method.

Using an egg that has been dyed using the first method, put a couple of drops of food coloring on a tooth brush.

Using your finger, flick the dye onto the egg. I do recommend even if you don't wear gloves for method one or two, break them out for this method.

I love the way these turn out and it's very simple to do.
