How to Make an Everlasting Glossy Rose
Turn fresh flowers or dried flowers into everlasting keepsakes!
Here is what you'll need:
- Fresh flowers (preferably roses)
- 50ml Epoxy Resin
- 50ml Epoxy Hardener
- 3 small plastic measuring containers
- some popsicle sticks
- gloves
Dry Your Fresh Flowers.
Snip the leaves off the flower stems and trim the stem to about 6 inch. Hang the flowers upside down in a dark, well ventilated space. It will take about 1-2 weeks for it to dry. You can also use other methods to dry the flowers.
Gather the Equipments and Prepare the Epoxy Mixture.
Put on the gloves (you do not want this stuff to stick to your hands). To prepare mixture, measure out 50 ml resin in one container. Then measure out the same amount (50ml) hardener in another container. It is important that the mixture ratio is 1:1. Pour the two into another container and mix it well with a popsicle stick until it forms a homogenous mixture.
Coat the Dried Flower With the Epoxy Mixture.
Take the flower and dip it into the mixture gently, making sure not to break the flower. Pour some of the mixture around the outer sides of the flower. The idea is to coat the entire flower. After you coat the flower completely. Let is sit in an empty plastic cup to dry.
To clean up, let everything dry and just peel it and throw it away. Do not wash it down the drain!
Tada! You Have an Everlasting Rose!
Once its dried, you can use it for display or anything else you'd like!
