Elegant Ring Pillow

IMG_3003.JPG
This is a relatively easy item to make. I love it because it's so easy to match your wedding colors perfectly.

Materials Needed

IMG_3002.JPG
- White Satin
- Satin to match your Wedding Colors (I chose Platinum)
- Batting or Polyester Filling
- Sewing Machine
- Pins
- Scissors
- Needle
- Thread
- Pretty Button/Brooch for Center
- Ribbon (30" long)
- Iron

Cut Fabric

Cut two 7.5" squares of your white satin, and two 7.5" squares of your colored satin.

Prepare the Center Band

IMG_2992.JPG
Fold the center band right sides together, lengthwise.

Pin.

Sew and Iron the Band

IMG_2994.JPG
Sew using a 1/4" seam allowance.

Iron the seam flat to one side.

Flip the Band Right Side Out

IMG_2995.JPG
Flip the band right side out, with the seam in the center of the band, as shown.

Baste the Band Edges Together

Baste the edges together, using a 1/4" seam allowance.

Sew the Bands to the Center of the White Pieces

IMG_2997.JPG
Sew the right side of each band onto the right side of each white piece, along the sides, using a 1/4" seam allowance.

Sew It All Together!

With right sides facing, match the bands together, and pin. Be sure to leave a small opening so that you can flip the pillow right side out.

Sew, using a 5/8" seam allowance.

Flip Pillow Right Side Out

Flip the pillow right side out through the opening.

Stuff the Pillow

IMG_3000.JPG
Fill the pillow with stuffing or with multiple 6" squares of batting.

Pin the opening, and hand-stitch it shut.

Using a safety pin, pin the center band together in the middle.

Sew on the Button and Ribbon

IMG_3001.JPG
Take some thread and tie a knot around the center of each band (where the safety pin is) to keep it in place for when you sew on the button/brooch.

Sew on the button/brooch.

Tie your ribbon around the button/brooch, and stitch it in place to secure it.

Tie the Rings Onto the Ribbon

Tie the rings onto the ribbon, and you're ready to get married!

You can choose to use real rings or fake rings, depending on how much you trust your ring bearer. ;)
