How to Make an Apple Tart

Today I am going to show you how to make two delicious 20-cm apple tarts! If you only want to make one 20-cm tart then just halve the ingredients.
The Ingredients

The ingredients you will need:
- 600 g Flour
- 110 g Sugar
- 10 g Baking Powder
- 250 g Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 1-2 Tablespoons Milk
Crack the eggs into a bowl and lightly whisk to combine; set aside.
Rub in Butter

Sieve flour and baking powder into a bowl or onto a bench. Add butter and rub into the flour/baking powder using just your finger tips. Keep going until it is like fine bread crumbs.
Add Sugar

Once you have rubbed in the butter, stir/mix in the sugar.
Eggs

Make a well in the center of the flour and add the eggs. Mix evenly into the flour and sugar, until there is no more loose flour.
Divide in Half and Add Milk

Divide in two and set one half aside. We will use this for the crumble topping later. With the other half, sprinkle on the milk and knead quickly until if forms a ball.
Roll Out Your Dough

If you are making two tarts, split the dough in half. Roll out to fit a tart pan or if you don't have one, flat on a tray will be just fine.
Fill With Apple

Spread on some stewed apple*, with the pastry on the tray I have pushed the sides up a little bit so it doesn't all leak out when I bake it.

Topping

Top your apple with the crumbly mixture that we saved earlier and bake in an oven at 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Keep an eye on them to make sure they don't burn!
Finished!

When the pastry is cooked and golden brown and the tarts look and smell delicious leave them to cool, then dust with a little icing sugar. Serve with some whipped cream, yogurt or cream fraiche like I have done here. The link to the instructable for the Cream Fraiche is below.
