APC-0057.jpg

This simple yet elegant swan is sure to bring some class to whatever room you put it in. Because each of these swans only takes half of an apple, you can get two birds with one........apple?

Supplies

For this project you will need

  • 1 apple
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

The first thing that you will need to do is wash your apple and take off its sticker. Next, cut your apple down the middle. Take one of your halves and cut about 1/2 off the center, this cut should stop around 1/4 inch short of going all of the way through. Next, make a sideways cut that will intersect with your previous cut. Once this is done continue cutting deep Ls until you have a stair-stepping wing shape. Repeat this process on the other side.

Making the Neck

Once you have made the wings I recommend temporarily removing them so that you don't accidentally break them. After that, take your untouched half and cut a slice off of it that is roughly 3/16 of an inch. Once you have this slice you will want to cut it in half. Take one of the halves and cut a rectangle out of it as shown in the picture. This will make your swan neck, now take an apple seed and push it into the apple to make an eye. You are almost done! Lastly, you will need to cut a slot for the neck in the body. You Did It!

In case no one told you today, you rock! ✌️
