How to Make a Yarn Doll

IMG_1716.jpg

There a million things you can do with yarn!

Did you know that you can even make a doll out of yarn?

All you need are a few materials, and then you will have a doll which you can give as a present, decoration, or simply play with.

Supplies

You will need:

- A ball of yarn

- Scissors

- Cardboard, paper, or a notebook (something stiff)

Take a piece of cardboard, paper, or a notebook. Use anything that is stiff. Even a clipboard is fine!

This can be as long as you want, I used a notebook that was 9.5 inches long.

Wrap your yarn around the material you used (cardboard, paper, notebook, etc)

I suggest wrapping it around 40 times, then your doll would be nice and large.

Cut the loose strand after wrapping the yarn.

Using your scissors, snip the yarn off one end.

Find the middle of the yarn strand and tie it.

Fold the yarn in half.

Then tie it around to form the head of the doll.

Separate the two arms.

You choose to tie the ends of the arms or braid them.

After braiding the arms, tie them off.

Cut off the excess yarn.

Tie off the torso of the doll.

Separate the two legs of the doll.

Tie the legs off, or you can braid them.

Once you are done braiding the legs, tie them off.

Cut off the excess yarn.

You can add eyes or accessories to your dolls!

If you want eyes, take googly eyes or draw some eyes, and glue them to the doll.

If you want a t-shirt, wrap some yarn around the doll's torso.

Tie off the excess yarn, and to secure the t-shirt, you can glue it.

Your Done!
