How to Make a Very Detailed Luxury Watch From Cardstock Paper

Before I began this instructable I asked my sister which watches I should make, for there were millions to choose from! and... she picked this one. So here it is: "How to make a very detailed luxury watch from cardstock paper"

Keep in mind that the concepts here go for almost any round watch, Just take the concepts from here and apply them to your own rendition.

This is fairly easy to make in the sense that it does not require any special skills, all that is needed is patients, and some of the tools and materials Under the "SUPPLIES" section...

• Cardstock paper
• Precision knife (for cutting small parts)
• Compass(essential)
• Scissors(for cutting bigger parts)
• Tweezers(for moving/holding tiny details)
• Glue

The 1st picture is the front of the watch, and the 2nd is the back of the watch for this build we will only work on the front details.

The first step is to draw a circle with an outer radius of about 3.2cm

Be sure to leave a border for the inner radius as well. Lastly, curve it so that is no longer flat as shown in the 4th photo.

For the face of the watch, cut out a circle, Next cut out two much much smaller circles, then cut out yet another circle smaller than the last two.

Now look at the 3rd picture and glue them as shown. Start by gluing the two small circles side by side, and put the smallest one under both of them.

And then glue discs and smaller circles on top of the two small circles.

Using a precision knife cut out the shape of the three circles and the bottom of the first circle

Lastly, cut a long strip of paper and shape it into a ring glue the ring under the face you just made.

Start by cutting out a very small circle of paper, cut notches on the sides, make about two gears, then cut a few other small randomly shaped pieces, and glue them inside so that they just peek out of the hole, see photo #3

So now, glue the curved part onto the face of the watch.

Next cut out tiny rectangles and glue them at the hour positions (I did not do it correctly...)

Roll a strip of paper and glue it at the side for the winding dial.

Lastly, glue a large circle at the bottom to close it up.

To make the strap cut 4 strips of cardstock, the first being the thickest and the last being the thinnest. glue them on top of each other, starting from the thickest. Then connect the edges together.

Flatten a portion of it (as shown in the 3rd photo) and glue it on the watch face.

Cut the strap at the middle and slide on a rectangular shape as seen in the first and second photos. Then cut out a tapering piece of cardstock and glue it on the rectangular slide-on part(as seen in the 3rd photo).

When you want to shut it you slide the other end into the square, if it's not long enough to do so you can extend it by gluing a strip of cardboard to the belt end. (see last gif)

And there you have it, a watch that looks quite nice and can be worn. It is rather difficult to cut out all the small parts, but Just take your time and do it slowly. The longer you take the better it will come out!
