This is one of my favorite sandwiches. It is easy to make and it tastes great.

Supplies

  • A can of tuna
  • mayonnaise
  • celery
  • a pickle
  • a red onion
  • two slices of bread
  • a bowl
  • a spoon
  • a fork
  • a knife
  • a cutting board
  • a freezer
  • a toaster

Celery

Cut a piece of celery into very small pieces. Put the pieces in the bowl.

Pickle

Chop up a dill pickle spear, which is about a fourth of a five inch pickle. Put this in the bowl with the celery.

Red Onion

Dice up a small red onion. The one I used was about two inches in size. Put the pieces in the bowl with the celery and the pickle.

Mayonnaise

Add mayonnaise to the bowl. I like to put in three large spoonfuls, but you can add as much as you like.

Mix the mayonnaise in.

Add Tuna

Open the can of tuna. Use a fork to get the tuna from the can into the bowl.

Mix in the Tuna

Use the fork to break up the tuna and mix it in.

Chill

This step is optional, but I like to chill the tuna salad before I put it in the sandwich.

Cover the bowl and place it in the freezer for about ten minutes.

Toast the Bread

This step is also optional, but I think that toasting the bread helps.

Place two pieces of bread in the toaster and toast them until they get sightly crispy.

Assemble

Scoop a good amount of tuna salad on to one piece of bread. Place the other piece of bread on top.
