How to Make a Thumbdrive Out of an Old PS1 Memory Card Case

This is my first instructable so bear with me if i'm not to clear on something. If you want more info on this instructable or have questions, please put them in the comments. Constructive criticism is welcome. Negative feedback or profanity is NOT allowed.

1 PS1 or PS2 memory card (I used a PS1 memory card, but the two are very alike so i dont think it will make much of a difference)
1  Thumbdrive(Preferably one that will fit in the memory card)
1  Small Screwdriver
1  Pair of scissors
1  Sharpie
1  Metal File

Now, every thumbdrive is different. So, that means i cant really make a instruction on how to open the thumbdrive because it really doesn't matter which thumbdrive you use, as long as it can fit in the PS1/PS2 memory card case. My thumbdrive was relatively easy to open. All I had to do was unscrew one screw and pop it open. 

The memory card is very easy to open. It doesnt require any fancy tools. All you need is a screwdriver that can fit into the hole. Unscrew the screws. The screws are the same size so it doesnt matter if you mix them up.

The memory card doesn't have anything holding it down so you can just pull it out.

If your thumbdrive fits in your memory card perfectly fine when you close it, you can skip this step. On my memory card case, there were tiny bumps on the inside bottom of it. It stopped me from completely closing the case without almost breaking my thumbdrive. All you have to do it file it down so your thumbrive can fit.

Before your thumbdrive can fit, you have to cut a small rectangle out of the exit area so the usb will fit normally. Remember to not cut too far back because you need a good amount to fit it in all the way into the usb port. You can also make a hole in the back for the LED(if your thumbdrive has one). I used scissors to make the hole by twisting it around on one of the tips in the center of the hole. Put your thumbdrive against the bottom(make sure its centered) of the top piece of the memory card case and outline areas to cut with a marker. Once you've made the cuts, insert your thumbdrive into the center. Close and screw it together. Your thumbdrive should stay in place, but if it doesn't, you could probably use hot glue to keep it in place.

Insert your new thumbdrive and watch the magic. It's an easy project and took me only 10-15 minutes.
