How to Make a Terrarium Out of a Recycled Topo Chico Bottle
In this instructable, I am going to show you how to make a terrarium out of a bottle. This project is child-friendly, you will only five materials, and you won't need to water it.
Gather Your Materials!
- A Topo Chico bottle with the lid (the label must be peeled off)
- Potting soil
- Seeds (I used watermelon and lemon balm seeds)
- A small leaf cutting from a sticky finger plant or the leaf cutting from a donkey ear plant (optional)
- Moss
Fill the Bottle With Soil
Fill the bottle about a third of the way full with potting soil. You can put the potting soil in the bottle with a paper funnel. If you don't know how to make one the link below will show you how.
Add the Seeds
Sprinkle your seeds in the jar. Then add an inch of soil.
Add Your Leaf Cutting
Add the leaf cutting. To put it in the bottle just drop the leaf cutting through the hole. If you want to, you can stand the leaf cutting up with a straw or a pencil.
Water Your Terrarium
Add enough water so all the dirt is wet. Then close the lid.
Enjoy!! : )
Tada!! You now have your own terrarium!! Give it as a gift or keep it for yourself.
