How to Make a Super Easy Hercules Stacking Blocks Game for Your Kid (Even for You!) in 3 Steps
Stacking games have much fun! In this Instructable I’m going to show you how to make your own Hercules Stacking Blocks. It is super easy!
Supplies
You’re going to need
- Laser cutting machine or CNC machine
- Plywood (thickness doesn't matter)
- Drawing of Hercules
- Sandpaper
- Glue
- Optional: Acrylic paint, brushes & a cup of coffee (for moms actually!)
Cutting & Sanding (& Sticking)
There are two Hercules models in the game. One is originally 5.5 cm x 7.0 cm (2.2” x 2.8”) and the other one is 8.5 cm x 7.0 cm (3.4” x 2.8”). However, you can scale it as you need.
If you have a laser cutting machine, probably you use thin plywoods like ⅛” or ¼”. I suggest you cut 2 sets of Hercules and glue them together so that they can easily stand upright. The thinner material is quite wobbly.
If you’re using a CNC machine, use thick plywoods like ⅜” or more. Cut as many models as you need ( a minimum of six Hercules or more) in your machine.
If there is a burr on the plywood after cutting, sand them with sandpaper.
If you use thinner plywood as ⅛” or ¼”, glue two of them.
(Optinal) Painting (If You Don’t Want to Paint, pass This Step and Directly Go to Step 3)
You can paint your hercules with your imagination. It is totaly up to you! If you have kids it can be a colorful activity while drinking your coffee. They can paint hercules with faces, clothes, dots or any kind of patterns they want. Let’s set them free with their imagination and enjoy your cup of coffee. You earned it!
Playing
Finally, you can play with your Hercules. You can make a tower as high as you want. Connecting the Hercules blocks together while keeping the Hercules balanced, will be challenging. It is good for all ages. You can prepare it as a gift for yourself or anyone else. It is the perfect game for all ages. I’m sure that you will love them.
