This is a simple and easy guide to make a key holder that is not over the top fancy and will fit in most types of house styles.

Supplies

4- Screw Eye hooks

1- 1x2x8 inch piece of wood

2- Command strips

Paint and primer for wood

Prep the Wood

Cut the wood from whatever shape and size that you have it as to a rectangle that is 8 inches long, half an inch to an inch deep, and 2 inches tall.

Holes

Make a line halfway up the piece of the wood for the entire length of the piece of wood. 1 inch from the sides of the wood and 2 inches after that make pencil markings. These pencil markings will be used to show where you will be drilling small pilot holes for the screw eyes. These holes do not need to be very deep and should only be used as a way to help you start the screw eyes to get them firmly held in.

Paint and Prime

Take the wood to somewhere where you can spray the wood. First prime. Wait however long your specific primer is supposed to wait for and then apply a coating of paint to give it a color that will match with the things in the surrounding area of your house.

Screw Eyes

Get your 4 screw eyes ready and begin to use the pilot holes from earlier to screw them in by hand. Make sure that you are keeping them level and have them not be off facing on angles.

Commands Strips

Attach the command strips to the back of the wood. You can either use 2, 1 on each side or use just 1 in the center. Use a level if necessary to get the key holder level and flat on the wall.
